Rule 27 Proof of official record

If you need to prove that an official record exists, or that something was recorded in it, you follow the same steps used in civil court cases. The same is true if you need to prove that a record or entry does not exist.

This keeps the process simple by using one consistent method across both criminal and civil cases. You do not need to learn a separate set of steps just because you are in a criminal case.
