Rule 90.611 Religious beliefs or opinions

A witness's religious beliefs cannot be used to make them look more or less trustworthy in court. It does not matter what religion someone follows or whether they follow any religion at all.

This means a lawyer cannot suggest that a witness should be believed because they are religious, or doubted because they are not. What someone believes about God or religion stays out of the picture when a jury decides whether to trust what a witness says.
