Rule 8.145 Supersedeas on Appeal

When someone appeals a juvenile court decision, the court can put that decision on hold while the appeal is being reviewed. This is called a supersedeas. The court gets to decide whether to grant this pause and what rules or conditions come with it.

The court makes this decision by looking at what is best for the child and what is good for the public. Not everyone who asks for a pause will get one. The judge has full authority to say yes or no based on the specific situation.
