Rule 8.220 Style of Pleading and Orders

When you file paperwork in a Florida juvenile case, the title at the top must follow a specific format. It should read either "In the interest of [child's name], a child" or "In the interest of [children's names], children."

This applies to all documents in the case, including court orders. There is no flexibility in how the title is written. Using the correct title helps make clear that the case involves a minor and keeps court records organized and consistent.
