Rule 6.020 Purpose and Construction

Florida's traffic court rules have one main goal: to make the court process simple and fair for everyone. The rules are written to cut down on wasted time and unnecessary costs.

When a judge or court official has to interpret or apply these rules, they should always lean toward whatever makes the process easier, faster, and more equal for all parties involved.
