Rule 6.500 Entry of Disposition

When a traffic case is settled without a hearing, the court clerk or official records the outcome in the case file. This keeps an official record of what happened, even when no one had to appear in court.

If there was a hearing, the judge announces the decision out loud in the courtroom. That decision is also put in writing and added to the case file. This way, there is always a clear, written record of how a case ended.
