Rule 6.530 Imposition of Penalty Before or After Motion Filed

If you lose a traffic case, the court can make you pay your fine right away. You do not have to wait for any further court action before the penalty is applied.

Filing a motion to ask for a new hearing does not automatically stop or delay your fine. The official handling your case has the choice to collect the penalty before or after dealing with any motions you file.
