Rule 9 Immunity

Mediators who work on cases under this program cannot be sued for things they do while doing their job as a mediator. As long as the mediator was picked following the process in Rule 5, they have full protection from lawsuits related to their work on the case.

This means if you disagree with how a mediator handled your case, or you feel they made a mistake while mediating, you cannot take legal action against them personally. The protection covers anything they do as part of their official duties in the mediation process. This rule exists so mediators can do their job without fear of being sued by people who are unhappy with the outcome of a mediation.
