Rule 12 Stipulations

If both sides in an arbitration case agree on something, like how the process will work or certain facts in the case, that agreement needs to be put in writing. Both sides, or their lawyers, have to sign it. Once it's signed, it needs to be given to the arbitrator so it's officially part of the case record.

This rule matters because it stops confusion or disagreements later about what the parties actually agreed to. A verbal agreement isn't enough. If you and the other side work something out during arbitration, get it in writing and make sure the arbitrator has a copy.
