Rule 27 Effective Date

This rule sets the dates when the arbitration rules started to apply in different parts of Hawaiʻi. Each circuit court began using these rules on a different date.

The first circuit court started using the rules on February 15, 1986. The third circuit court started on October 1, 1987. The second circuit court started on October 15, 1987. The fifth circuit court started on November 1, 1987.

For most people today, this rule just explains the history of when arbitration rules took effect in each area. It does not affect how cases are handled now, since all these dates have long passed.
