Rule 82 Jurisdiction and Venue Unaffected.

This rule simply says that the family court rules don't change what cases the family court can handle or where a case should be filed. The rules are about how a case moves through court, not about which court has the power to hear it.

In other words, jurisdiction (the court's authority to decide a case) and venue (the proper location for filing a case) are decided by other laws, not by these procedural rules. If you're trying to figure out whether the family court can hear your case, or which courthouse you should file in, you need to look at other statutes, not this set of rules.
