Rule 3 Waiver of Certification Requirements

This rule lets the Administrative Director skip certain requirements for someone applying to be a certified spoken-language interpreter. If an applicant can show solid proof that they already meet a requirement in some other way, the Director can waive that specific requirement instead of making the applicant complete it the standard way.

This flexibility only applies to certain parts of the rules, specifically the requirements listed in Rule 2.1(e) through 2.1(h) and Rule 2.2. The Director cannot waive every rule for becoming certified, only these specific ones. The applicant still needs to back up their request with real evidence, not just a claim that they should be excused.

In simple terms, this gives the Director some room to work with qualified applicants who have met a requirement in an unusual way, as long as they can prove it.
