Rule 13 Transmittal to the Appointing Authority

Once the commission picks its list of nominees, it has to send those names to the person or group with power to make the final appointment. The names are listed in alphabetical order, not in any order of preference.

The commission has 30 days from the time it selects the nominees to get this list delivered. The rule allows some flexibility in how this happens. The list can be hand-delivered, sent through video conferencing or similar technology, or sent electronically by other means.

This rule matters because it sets a clear deadline and keeps the process fair. By listing names alphabetically instead of ranking them, the commission avoids showing favoritism toward any one candidate.
