Rule 2.1 Electronic Signatures

If you're filing a document electronically in court, you can sign it with an electronic signature instead of signing it by hand. This means you don't need to print out a paper, sign it with a pen, and then scan it back in. A typed name, a digital signature, or another electronic method works just as well as a handwritten signature.

The same goes for notary seals. If a document needs to be notarized, the notary can use an electronic seal instead of a physical stamp. This makes it easier to handle documents that need notarization when everything is being done online or through email.

Basically, this rule keeps up with how people actually do business today. It lets courts accept electronic signatures and notary seals so that filing paperwork doesn't require printing, signing by hand, and scanning everything back into a computer.
