Rule 61 Source Lists for Master Jury Lists

Idaho courts build their jury lists by combining two main sources: voter registration records from the most recent general election, and lists of people who have an Idaho driver's license or state ID card. Courts must merge these lists together and remove any duplicate names, so each person only appears once.

Courts also have to permanently take deceased people off the jury lists. This means the courts need to regularly check for and remove the names of people who have died, so they don't get mistakenly called for jury duty.

This rule exists to make sure jury pools include as many eligible people as possible. By pulling from both voter registration and ID/license records, the courts get a much bigger and more accurate pool of potential jurors than they would from just one source.
