If you pass the bar exam in Indiana and want to become a licensed attorney, you need to do two more things first. You have to take the attorney's oath, and your name has to be added to the official list of attorneys kept by the Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Admissions and Continuing Education.
Once you complete both of these steps, you earn the right to receive a certificate. This certificate serves as official proof that you have been admitted to practice law in Indiana. Simply passing the exam is not enough on its own. You need to complete the oath and registration process to get this proof of your admission.
