Rule 1.9 9. Service of Papers and Orders

When you're going through non-binding alternative dispute resolution (like mediation), you still have to follow the normal rules for sending documents to the other side. This means using the same process laid out in Trial Rule 5, which covers how papers and pleadings get delivered during a case.

The court clerk has a separate job. When the court issues orders, notices, or rulings during this process, the clerk sends them out following Trial Rule 72(D). This keeps everyone on the same page using standard court procedures, whether it's the parties sending documents to each other or the court sending out its own decisions.

In short, alternative dispute resolution doesn't change how paperwork gets delivered. The same rules that apply in regular court cases still apply here.
