When you agree to use a private judge to settle your case instead of going through the regular court system, you have to pay for it yourself. This means covering the private judge's fees, along with the costs for any court staff who help with the case, plus the facilities and materials needed to handle everything.
You can't just decide to use a private judge and figure out payment later. When you file the paperwork asking the court to appoint a private judge, you must also file a written agreement that spells out how the payment will work. This agreement needs to be in place from the start, so everyone knows upfront who is paying what.
Basically, this rule makes sure there's no confusion about money later on. If you choose the private judge route, be ready to pay for that service and have your payment terms worked out and put in writing before the process even begins.
