Rule 903 Subscribing Witness’ Testimony

If a document needs a witness signature to be legally valid, you don't automatically have to bring that witness to court to prove the document is real. You only need that witness's testimony if the specific law governing the document says you must have it.

In most everyday situations, there are other ways to prove a document is genuine, like comparing signatures or using other evidence. This rule just says that courts don't have a blanket requirement to call the person who signed as a witness unless some other law specifically demands it for that type of document.
