Rule 6.203 Reply to issues raised in cross-appeal

When someone files a cross-appeal in a case, the person who started the original appeal gets a chance to respond to it. This rule gives that person seven days after they receive the other side's response to file their reply.

This reply is only allowed if a cross-appeal was actually filed. If the other side (the appellee) did not file a cross-appeal, the appellant cannot file this kind of reply. In short, this rule makes sure both sides get a fair chance to answer each other's arguments, but only when a cross-appeal is part of the case.
