Rule 35.2 Form of complaint

If you want to file a complaint against a lawyer in Iowa, you need to use an official complaint form. These forms are available from the disciplinary board, and anyone can get one.

When you fill out the form, you have to certify that everything you're saying is true, under penalty of perjury. This means you could face legal consequences if you lie on the form. The one exception is if the complaint is filed by a court officer, like a judge, in which case this certification isn't required.

You can also attach any supporting documents you want to include with your complaint. This gives you a chance to back up what you're saying with evidence, like emails, letters, or other paperwork that supports your claim against the lawyer.
