Rule 1.255 Injunction

Once someone files an interpleader case and the other parties have been officially notified, the court can step in and stop everyone involved from filing or continuing other lawsuits about the same issue. This keeps all the parties focused on one case instead of fighting over the same money or property in multiple courts at once.

This tool is useful in situations where one person or company holds money or property that two or more people are claiming. Instead of dealing with separate lawsuits from each claimant, the court can pause any other legal action until it decides who is entitled to what. The freeze stays in place until the court says otherwise.
