Rule 1.309 Amendment of process or proof of service

If there's a mistake in how court papers were prepared or in the paperwork showing they were delivered, the court can allow it to be fixed. The judge has the power to let these corrections happen at pretty much any point in the case.

The judge also gets to decide any conditions that come with allowing the fix. For example, they might require extra time be given to the other side, or set other terms to keep things fair.

There's one main limit on this power. If fixing the mistake would seriously harm the rights of the person the papers were served on, the judge should not allow the change. The goal is to correct honest errors without unfairly hurting the other person's ability to defend themselves in the case.
