Rule 1.603 Pretrial conference; record

If you're going through a pretrial conference, you or your lawyer can ask to have the whole thing written down by a court reporter. The judge can also ask for this on their own. This means someone officially types up what happens during the meeting, word for word.

You don't have to record the entire conference if you don't need to. Anyone involved can ask for just a specific part of the conference to be recorded, instead of all of it. This gives people flexibility to create a record only for the parts that matter most to their case.

Having a recorded record can be useful later on. If there's ever a dispute about what was said or agreed to during the pretrial conference, this written record can help clear things up. It creates an official account that both sides and the court can refer back to if needed.
