Rule 1.925 Additional instructions

If a jury has questions or gets stuck while deciding a case, the judge can give them more instructions to help clarify things. This can happen after the jury has already started deliberating. Before doing this, the judge has to let the lawyers know what's happening, or have them present when it occurs.

Any extra instructions the judge gives must be written down. These written instructions become part of the official case file, just like the original instructions given to the jury. If a lawyer disagrees with these additional instructions, they can't object right away. Instead, they have to wait and raise their objection later, when asking for a new trial.

This rule gives judges some flexibility to help juries during their deliberations while still keeping a clear record and making sure the process stays fair to both sides.
