Rule 1.936 Compensation

When a master is appointed to help with a case, the judge decides how much that person should be paid. The judge also decides who has to pay for it. This could be one side in the case, both sides, or it could come from money or property connected to the case.

If the person or side who owes the payment doesn't pay, the master can ask the court to enforce the payment order, similar to collecting a debt. This means the master has a legal way to make sure they get paid.

One important protection here is that the master can't hold onto their reports or findings just to force payment. Even if they haven't been paid yet, they still have to hand over their work to the court and the parties involved.
