Rule 1.959 Entry

When a judge makes a decision in a case, that decision has to be written down in the official court record. This applies to both judgments (final decisions) and orders (rulings made during the case).

The written record has to clearly state what was decided. If the court is granting something, like awarding money or approving a request, the record needs to spell out exactly what was granted. This keeps things clear for everyone involved, including the people in the case and anyone who looks at the record later. There's no guessing about what the court decided or ordered.
