Rule 2.57 Arrest warrant

Once a judge or magistrate approves a criminal complaint, they can immediately issue a warrant for the person's arrest. There's no waiting period required between approving the complaint and issuing the warrant.

This means the process can move quickly. If law enforcement files a complaint and the magistrate finds it valid, an arrest warrant can be signed right away, allowing police to take the person into custody based on that warrant.
