Rule 36.18 Oaths

Members of the grievance commission have the power to swear in witnesses before they testify. This means a witness must promise to tell the truth before giving their statement, just like in a regular courtroom.

The rule also requires that a court reporter be present to officially record everything a witness says. This creates a written record of the testimony that can be used later if needed, such as during an appeal or further review of the case.
