Rule 7.3 District court rules in probate

If a local district court wants to create its own rule for handling probate cases (like settling estates or wills), that rule can't just go into effect on its own. The district court first has to send the rule to the clerk of the Iowa Supreme Court. Then the Supreme Court has to review and approve it.

Until the Supreme Court signs off on it, the local rule has no legal power. This system makes sure that individual district courts can't create their own probate procedures without a check from the higher court. It keeps rules consistent across the state and prevents local courts from adding requirements that haven't been reviewed.
