Iowa Commission on the Unauthorized Practice of Law – 2026

Six rules. Rule 37.1 creates the Commission on the Unauthorized Practice of Law — seven lawyer members and two nonlawyer members — for the abatement of the unauthorized practice of law, and Rule 37.2 covers injunctions. The remaining four mark out conduct at the boundary: the unauthorized practice of nonadmitted lawyers (37.3), domestic violence, sexual assault and sexual abuse victim counselors (37.4), limited real estate practice (37.5), and Beneficial Ownership Information reporting under the federal Corporate Transparency Act (37.6).
