This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
This rule no longer applies. It used to set out requirements for briefs filed in criminal cases or postconviction cases in Kansas appeals courts, but the state got rid of it on September 1, 2017.
If you're looking at an older case or document that references this rule, keep in mind it's not valid anymore. Any current requirements for criminal or postconviction briefs would be found in other, active parts of the Kansas appellate rules. If you need to know what rules apply now, it's best to check the current rule book or ask someone familiar with today's Kansas court procedures.
