§ 60-2307 Not exempt for wages.

If you owe wages to a clerk, mechanic, laborer, or servant, you can't use Kansas's usual property exemptions to protect your stuff from being taken to pay that debt. Normally, certain personal property is protected from creditors trying to collect through attachment or execution (a legal process to seize property to satisfy a debt). But this protection doesn't apply when the debt is unpaid wages owed to these types of workers.

In simple terms, this rule makes sure workers get paid what they're owed. It stops employers or debtors from hiding behind property exemption laws when the money they owe is wages for work already done. Someone who owes wages to a clerk, mechanic, laborer, or servant can have their property taken to cover that debt, even if that same property would normally be off limits for other kinds of debts.
