§ 60-3108 Notice of protection orders.

When a court grants a protection order in Kansas, everyone who needs to know about it gets an official copy. This includes the person who asked for the order, the person the order is against, and the local police department where the person who asked for protection lives.

If the person lives outside city limits, or their city doesn't have its own police department, the county sheriff gets the copy instead. This way, law enforcement always has a record of the order and knows to enforce it if needed.

This process matters because it helps police respond quickly if the order is violated. Officers can check their records right away and take action, since they already have proof the order exists and know its terms.
