§ 60-313 Process, return of proof of service; amendment.

If there's a mistake or error in how legal papers were delivered, or in the paperwork proving they were delivered, the court can allow that paperwork to be fixed. This gives some flexibility when there are small errors in serving documents to someone involved in a case.

The court will only refuse to allow this fix if changing the paperwork would seriously harm the rights of the person who received the documents. In other words, small clerical errors or technical problems usually can be corrected. The main concern is making sure the person being served isn't unfairly hurt by allowing the correction.

This rule exists so that minor paperwork mistakes don't derail a case. Courts would rather fix small errors than throw out a case over a technicality, as long as doing so doesn't unfairly harm the other side.
