§ 60-4123 Statutory construction.

This rule tells judges how to read and apply the law it belongs to. Courts should interpret the law in a broad, flexible way so it can do what it was designed to do: fix problems and provide relief to people who need it. In other words, judges shouldn't read the law narrowly or look for technical reasons to limit its protections.

The rule also explains how the civil remedies under this law work alongside other laws. These remedies add to what's already available. They don't replace other legal options, and they don't cancel each other out. This means someone can use the remedies in this law along with other legal claims or actions they might have. Using one option doesn't stop a person from using another, and having other legal options doesn't stop someone from using the remedies in this particular law either.
