Rule 303 Organization—Quorum

Here's a plain English summary of this rule:

The Board of Examiners of Court Reporters holds a meeting every October where members pick one person to be the chairperson, or leader, of the group. This person is chosen from among the Board's own members.

The judicial administrator, or someone that person picks, handles the job of secretary for the Board. This secretary is not counted as a regular member of the Board, even though they help run meetings and keep records.

For the Board to make official decisions or conduct business, at least five members must be present. This is called a quorum. If fewer than five members show up, the Board cannot vote on matters or take official action that day.
