§ 22-2405 Method of arrest.

When police make an arrest, it happens one of two ways. Either an officer physically restrains the person, or the person simply gives up and agrees to go into custody without a struggle. Both count as a legal arrest under Kansas law.

Officers can make an arrest at any time, day or night. There's no restriction that limits arrests to certain hours.

If officers need to enter a building or property to make a lawful arrest, they're allowed to use whatever force is necessary and reasonable to get in. This means they can force entry if needed, as long as the arrest itself is legally authorized and the force used fits the situation.
