Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)
This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
This rule lets the Kansas secretary of corrections give special permission to law enforcement workers from other states to help bring back people who broke the rules of their parole, probation, or supervised release in Kansas. If someone violates their parole or probation terms and needs to be returned to Kansas, an officer from another state can be given the authority to act on behalf of Kansas to make that happen.
Once that officer is given this authority, they have the same legal powers as a Kansas law enforcement officer, but only for the job of returning that specific person. This means Kansas does not have to send its own officers to another state every time someone violates their release conditions. Instead, the state can rely on trained officers who are already nearby to handle the return safely and legally.
