XIII, Sec. 24 Collection of fees

If you're part of a specialty court program, like drug court, the staff running the program cannot collect fees, fines, or other costs from you at any point. This means the people helping you through the program are not allowed to charge you money as part of that process.

Judges in drug court also cannot punish you financially. That means they cannot order you to pay fines or other money-based penalties as a sanction.

On top of that, no one involved, whether it's the judge or the program staff, can collect money for the drug court itself through things like forfeitures, plea deals, penalties, or fees. The only money that can be collected is what's specifically allowed under other rules. This keeps the program focused on helping people, not collecting money from them.
