XVII, Sec. 7 Reconsideration of denial of public access to administrative records

If your request to see administrative court records gets turned down, you have options to challenge that decision. First, you can ask the Chief Justice of Kentucky to take another look. You need to send a detailed letter explaining why you think the denial was wrong, and you must do this within 30 days of the original decision.

If the Chief Justice agrees with the denial and still says no, you get one more chance. You can ask the full Supreme Court to review the case. This request also needs to be in writing, but you have less time to act, only 10 days from the Chief Justice's decision.

Both of these deadlines matter a lot. If you miss them, you likely lose your chance to challenge the denial through this process. So if you're denied access to records and want to push back, act quickly and put your reasons in writing each step of the way.
