XXI, Sec. 19 Filing of mental health court documents

When someone goes through mental health court, several documents get created along the way. This rule explains what happens to those documents. It says the Specialty Courts staff must file each one with the court clerk so it becomes part of the official case file.

The documents covered include things like the order that refers someone to mental health court, notices about their referral status, and orders admitting them into the program. It also covers paperwork for moving someone between programs, changing their status to suspended or active, and transferring their case. If someone violates program rules, that notice only gets filed when the violation actually leads to the person being removed from the program.

The rule also covers how someone's time in the program ends. This includes notices for voluntary or involuntary termination, administrative discharge, or successful completion of the program. By requiring all these documents to be filed, the rule makes sure the court record shows a complete history of what happened during someone's time in mental health court. This protects the defendant, the court, and anyone who needs to look back at the case later.
