Here's what this rule means in everyday terms.
After a judge makes a decision in a case and writes down the findings, either side has 10 days to ask the judge to change or add to those findings. The judge can also decide on their own, without anyone asking, to fix or add to the findings during that same 10 day window. If the findings change, the judge can update the final judgment to match.
This gives both the judge and the parties a short window to correct mistakes or fill in gaps in the written decision. Maybe the judge left out an important fact, or got a detail wrong. This rule lets that get fixed quickly instead of forcing someone to file a full appeal over it.
You can also combine this request with a motion for a new trial. If you think the judge missed something in the findings and also think you deserve a new trial, you can ask for both at the same time within that 10 day period.
