60.05 Writs abolished

This rule gets rid of some old, outdated legal tools that used to let people ask a court to take another look at a final judgment. These tools had unusual Latin names like coram nobis and audita querela, and they came from very old legal traditions. Courts don't use them anymore.

If you need to ask a court to change or undo a final judgment, you now have to use Rule 60.02 or 60.03 instead. These newer rules cover the same basic idea, like fixing mistakes or dealing with new evidence, but they spell out clear and modern steps to follow. This makes it easier for everyone to understand how to ask for relief from a judgment, instead of relying on confusing old procedures.
