83 Local rules--Abolished

Kentucky's courts used to allow individual judges or courthouses to create their own local rules for handling cases. This rule gets rid of that practice completely.

Now every court in Kentucky must follow the same set of statewide civil procedure rules. No court can make up its own extra rules or shortcuts that differ from what the state rules say.

For people involved in a lawsuit, this means you don't have to worry about different rules depending on which county or courthouse your case is in. The same rules apply everywhere in the state, which makes things more predictable and fair no matter where you file your case.
