2.08 Defective warrant, summons or citation

If you're arrested on a warrant, or you show up in court because you got a summons or citation, the case against you can't be thrown out just because the paperwork had a mistake in how it was written. Small errors in form don't get you off the hook.

Instead of dismissing the case, the court can simply fix the paperwork. This means judges and prosecutors have a way to correct minor mistakes without losing the whole case. The rule exists so that small clerical errors don't let someone avoid facing real charges against them.
