4.14 Nonfinancial conditions on release

When a judge releases someone before trial and sets conditions they must follow, the court has to put those conditions in writing. The defendant must sign this document and get their own copy of it.

The written order also has to explain what happens if the person breaks these conditions. It must warn them that a judge will issue an arrest warrant if they violate any of the rules they agreed to follow. This way, the defendant knows exactly what is expected of them and what the consequences will be if they don't follow through.

Finally, the court must tell the local pre-trial services agency about the specific conditions that were set. This keeps the agency informed so they can help monitor the defendant's compliance while the case is pending.
