9.34 Challenge to panel

If you think something went wrong with how the jury pool was picked or called to court, you have to speak up right away. You must raise this concern before the lawyers start questioning any jurors.

This means you can't wait until after jury selection has already started to complain about problems with the process. If you believe the jurors weren't chosen fairly, or there was some mistake in how they were summoned to court, you need to bring this up first thing, before anyone begins asking the jurors questions.

The reason for this timing is simple. Courts want to fix any problems with jury selection before the process gets underway, not after. Waiting until later would waste time and could unfairly affect the trial after everyone has already invested time in questioning jurors.
