If a judge on the Judicial Conduct Commission stops being a judge of the type of court they were elected from, they automatically lose their spot on the commission. The same thing happens if a commission member no longer meets the requirements to serve. In both cases, their membership ends right away.

When this happens, the commission needs to fill that open spot. The rule says this replacement election works the same way as a regular election for the commission. So there's no special or different process, the commission just follows its normal election steps to pick someone to finish out the remaining time left in that term.
