4.095 Term of office: transitional provisions

This rule sets the starting point for the very first terms of office on the Judicial Conduct Commission. It says that when the Commission was first set up, the four year terms for most members and alternate members were counted as starting on the first Monday in January 1976.

There was one exception. The member and alternate member who represented the district court started their four year terms later, on the first Monday in January 1978.

This rule mostly matters for historical record keeping. It explains how the very first group of Commission members had their terms timed, so later terms could be counted correctly going forward.
